We will be celebrating 20 years in business this year, a long way from our humble start in Charleston SC back in 1999. We had an idea and a goal to provide guys and gals like me who love to create things with their own hands, a DIY project plan that surprisingly had no information available anywhere on how it could be done, period. The bigger hurdle was we had no idea how to get where we wanted to go with our idea.
The first DIY hot tub we did was built out of necessity to have a unit that would fit in a specific area because nothing was available for purchase that would fit where it was needed to fit. That said, I thought, why not just build one, and that’s what we did.
Progress was a little slow because we were learning as we built, and we made mistakes that had to be corrected as the project continued. However, what I was beginning to realize was that this type of project was by no means just for pool or spa contractors and was very doable for just about anyone who had some basic DIY skills and a little ambition. It was never about speed, but to produce a quality project that someone would be proud to say, “I did this”.

Fast forward now to 2019!
Custom Built Spas was started with just one 55 page book offered on line, now our information package provides 8 books packed with DIY spa and hot tub building information and a number of other cool DIY projects you might enjoy doing as well. Plus, our information package used to only come with 1 hot tub video build project, now it includes “two” complete video hot tub build projects. Sit back and watch as we take you from start to finish on two different hot tub building projects.
